blues music

The logo blues harp of my comic blue hats alludes to blues music.

Why blues music or blues harp? – Do I even listen to that?

So first of all. I invent stories and the blues harp is just a motif – a stylistic device in the fictional world. The comic “Blue hats” has film-noire influences, where I think of music from the 1930s/40s – classic jazz, swing and blues.

But my comic is more of a modern take. It takes place in the current time.

Actually, I like the sound of the blues harmonica instrument. And I really like it when it has been adapted in a modern way in contemporary tracks. These older blues songs are too country for me. I prefer the blues guitar but mixed in electronic music. The sound color of blues music is too bright. It’s too optimistic.

Swing/Jazz is something you would like to listen in a bar and drink whiskey.

If you’re really feel fucked up and dead inside, you would like to listen to something that reflects this feelings. So if you’re looking for a sound that truly describes darkness or blueness, you need to look somewhere else.

When I think about beeing blue or dark themes, I think about songs, like dark synthwave mixed with psychedelic rock.
